After almost a full week off from training at Christmas, the squad’s arrival at the airport was greeted by more presents in the form of new kit. The feeling of walking around wearing the word “OXFORD” on your back never gets old.

On Sunday 16th December, 'S’ and ‘M’ took to the water in Henley-on-Thames for OULRC's Trial VIIIs, umpired by Sir Matthew Pinsent. After a week of freezing fog, torrential rain and high winds, both crews were grateful for the fair conditions – mild, dry, with just a slight breeze down the course.

In an exciting finale, the Nephthys IM3 8+ beat Wolfson College, Oxford by a canvas in a respectable time of 2:56. In the preceding race, the same boat won against the Hampton School BC 8+ (3/4 Length verdict). Congratulations to the winning dev squad crew!
